The Bourbon Economic Development Group (BEDG) is proud to announce a major milestone in the revitalization of the local corridor: a $10,000 donation from the Bourbon Community Development Corporation (BCDC). This gift is a cornerstone contribution toward the construction of the new Bourbon Business-Community Development Center.
The planned facility, situated on a one-acre site at 169 Old State Route 66, is designed to be the heartbeat of Bourbon’s economic and cultural future. This project is currently bolstered by an active application for Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits. Upon the anticipated approval of these credits, the BEDG will have a three-year window to complete the donation and funding process, providing a strategic timeline to bring the center to life.
“This partnership between the BCDC and BEDG demonstrates a unified vision for our town,” said Chuck Ray, President of the BEDG. “The Center is more than just a building; it is a catalyst for local entrepreneurs and a stage for our community’s talent.”
The Bourbon Business-Community Development Center will feature a robust business plan aimed at long-term sustainability and growth:
• Professional Development: The center will host ongoing workshops and seminars tailored to both new and existing business owners.
• Economic Recruitment: It will serve as a central clearinghouse for local and regional information, providing vital data for potential new employers and business operations considering Bourbon.
• Marketplace for Artisans: Dedicated spaces will allow local restaurants and artisans to display and sell their services and products, keeping commerce local.
• Performing Arts: The facility will house a community auditorium, providing a permanent home for local performing arts and large-scale public events.
As the BEDG moves into this critical three-year development phase, community members and businesses are invited to participate in this legacy project. Donations can be sent to:
