Sky Huddleston

I’m a machinist, welder, fabricator, engineer and artist with a good grasp on economics.

As an entrepreneur and business owner in Bourbon, I founded Liberator Rocket Heaters and own a machine and weld shop ran by my father, Robert, and myself in the old Proctor Building where we manufacture pellet and wood stoves and create custom metalcrafting for people and businesses in the Bourbon community.

I’m a stout defender of your private property rights. If elected Mayor, my primary objective is to advance and grow our towns economy to create prosperity for the future. This means creating an environment that is friendly to entrepreneurship and focusing on critical infrastructure: road, water, sewage, and infrastructure repair.

Additionally, I’m currently in contact with Spire and other utility organizations to reduce our heating/utility bills by bringing natural gas services to Bourbon and the surrounding area without having to increase any sales tax on the things we already buy. This aligns and times well with the school district that is slated to spend approximately 10,000,000 dollars in renovations starting this year, a major portion of that going towards their HVAC system. Calculations indicate millions of dollars annually saved in the community with this plan. I’ve also investigated the possibility of a geothermal heating/cooling district that exploits economies of scale to reduce utility costs based on Missouri S&T’s geothermal system as a plan B to consider if natural gas falls through.
