April 2026 election filing opens on Dec. 9 for the Crawford County R-1 School District.
The notice of the April 2026 election was put in the consent agenda and was approved with a 6-0 vote with a plan to advertise in the Cuba Free Press and Sullivan Independent about the open positions.
Board positions that are up for election in 2026 are currently held by Sean Kaysinger, Ryan Cole and Stephen Waldron seats will be open. Kaysinger has expressed his intention to run for re-election to Board Secretary Danielle Waldron. Cole and Waldron have not declared intentions either way.
Board Members serve a three-year term limit and are resident taxpayers of the district. In order to run before election, a candidate must be 24 years old and have resided in the taxing district and state for at least one year before the election. Those interested in running should file in person with the district secretary at the Administration Building, located at 1444 Old Highway 66, Bourbon.
Filing will open at 8 a.m. on Dec. 9 and is open from 3 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 30, the last day to file.
Filing will not be available Dec. 24-26 when the district is closed for the holidays.
