Colleen Denise (nee Peterson) Lindsey of Cuba, Missouri was born on Monday, Jan. 9, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio to Boyd Lowell Peterson and Patricia Ann (nee Thomas) Peterson and passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the age of 65 years, 3 months and 10 days.
She graduated from Richwood High School in the Class of 1979.
She attended Methodist churches throughout her life.
She worked as a waitress for many years.
She loved horses and spent time riding and caring for them. She enjoyed farming and being outdoors. She had a special love for animals, especially her cats.
She first married Bob Lesmeister. Later, she married Robert Lindsey.
She was a wonderful cook, known for her homemade noodles and fresh bread. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, and crocheting, creating beautiful tablecloths and sharing what she made and grew with others.
She was preceded in death by her father, Boyd Peterson; mother, Patricia Hoodlet; son, Johnathon Lesmeister; brothers, Robert Dale Peterson and Michael Dennis Peterson; and special friend, George Green.
She is survived by her children, Kelly Lesmeister of Kirkwood, Missouri and Christopher Lindsey of St. Charles, Missouri; sisters, Karen Muenks of Imperial, Missouri and Patricia (Doug) Wilson of Richwood, Ohio; grandchildren, Joey Scorfina-Lesmeister, Lila Reyes-Lesmeister, Eli Lesmeister, Jersey Phelps, Hailey Phelps and Emma Phelps; other relatives and friends.
Following Colleen’s wishes, the family chose cremation as her final disposition. No services will be held.
