David Henry Klein of Cook Station, Missouri was born June 29, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to Henry Klein and Hazel Mizell Klein and passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 4 days.
David was employed for several years at Wishon Farms and also had his own business of selling root gatherings.
He enjoyed many activities outdoors, especially deer and turkey hunting, fishing and trapping coons.
David graduated from Steelville High School in 1968. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hazel Klein; granddaughter, Chelsea Smith; great grandson, Emmett Jones; one brother, Howard Klein; sister, Henrietta Ness; and brothers-in-law, Wes Sagers and Jim Hanks.
He is survived by his daughters, Suzette Klein of Springfield, Missouri and Debbie (Guy) Smith of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters, Violet Hanks of Steelville, Missouri and Paula Sagers of LaClaire, Iowa; brother-in-law, Leroy Ness of Union, Missouri; two grandchildren, Dylon Klein and Jaiden Klein of Springfield, Missouri; one great-granddaughter, Analeia Klein; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Celebration of Life was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of “Tears in Heaven,” “Down to the River to Pray” and “Go Rest High” was played.
Committal prayer and inurnment with Full Military Honors by the U.S. Navy and Patriot Guard Riders South Central were in the Barnicle Chapel Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.
