Evelyn Elizabeth (Tesreau) Harris of Cuba, Missouri was born on June 6, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri to Arthur and Della Tesreau and passed away on October 28, 2025 at the age of 99 years, 4 months, 21 days.
She married Courtney Harris on June 26, 1943. During their marriage, they owned and operated a restaurant, service station, and cab business in Cuba, Missouri. They moved to St Louis and later to Jennings, Missouri where Courtney drove for ABF Trucking Company while Evelyn stayed home to raise three kids, staying involved in their activities.
In 1966 they moved to a farm outside of Cuba, Missouri. They sold the farm in 1989 and moved into town, where she stayed busy with First Baptist Church of Cuba, grandkids and continued making handmade anniversary, birthday cards for and friends, which became her legacy as a 'Harris Hallmark Card.'
She was involved in family genealogy (without a computer). She had collections of pens and marbles, she stayed busy with gardening, canning, cattle and other farm chores. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Cuba, Missouri and volunteered working in many church activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Courtney Ray Harris; brothers, Edwin Tesreau, Myron Tesreau and wife Helen and Norman Tesreau and wife Edith; sisters, Mildred McClain and husband Medford and Jean Fries and husband Frank; grandson, Lonnie Shane Harris; granddaughter, Lana Wagner; great granddaughter, Kaylynne Batchelder; great granddaughter-in-law, Anne Harris; and son-in-law, Michael Morice.
She is survived by three children, Sharon (Sherry Wagner) Draper of Cuba, Missouri, John C. Harris and wife Barbara of Belle, Missouri and Sandy Morice of Lawton, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Lonnie Wagner of Cuba, Missouri, Cory Harris of Belle, Missouri, Carl Harris of Belle, Missouri, Keith Morice and wife Lindsay of Overland Park, Kansas, Kindra Dunning of Lawton, Oklahoma, Matthew Wagner and wife Samantha of Houston, Texas and Nikki Batchelder and husband Josh of Tacoma, Washington; 13 great grandchildren, Devin Wagner of Pennville, Indiana, Nikki Goodwin and husband Dylan of New Haven, Missouri, Jeffrey Harris of Booneville, Missouri, Mary Harris of Pacific, Missouri, John R. Harris of Belle, Missouri, Blake Bender of Palestine, Texas, Lane Bender and fiancé Doice Forte III of Lawton, Oklahoma, Avery Dunning of Lawton, Oklahoma, Will, Allie and Zack Morice of Overland Park, Kansas; nine great great grandchildren, Abran, Courtney Rae and Easton Wagner, Autumn, Ryan, Kayden and Xander Batchelder and Jax and Knox Goodwin; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Jim Moore officiating.
Burial will follow at Meramec Hills Memorial Cemetery outside of Cuba, Missouri
