This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.  We thank the Lord for the recent rain. The United Women in Faith will meet November 4 at 10:30 a.m.

The sermon themes for the past weeks have been the six pillars of the church. They are Christ, grace, the bible, prayer and fellowship, and servant leadership. Sunday’s sermon theme is servant leadership.  The scripture lesson, by Pastor Todd Holman, was Mark 10:35-45.

James and John wanted to sit on the right and left of Jesus, which did not sit well with the others.  They went on to be world changers after His resurrection.  Leadership isn’t about prestige, it’s about service. Sins separate us from God; we need Jesus to reconcile humanity to God and receive forgiveness for our sins.  Jesus told them he came to serve people. A servant leader empowers us, not the other way around. We are free to empower other people to succeed.  The mark of a leader is leading by example. They encourage others to thrive. We should serve God by using our gifts and our talents. When we trust in the Lord’s power, we can give away our own. We influence people, good or bad. See the kind of leader that Jesus is and continue to worship and follow Him.

On November 8 at Sacred Farms Event Center located at 12804 State Highway W in Bourbon will be selling homemade, food safe wooden bowls. From between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. All donations will go to the Bourbon Ministerial Alliance Teddy Bear Backpack program. Our church is a strong supporter of this program and packs these backpacks every week, to send home with the Bourbon school kids on weekends.

You are invited to join us for worship service on Sunday at 9 a.m.
