Mitchell Jay Burke of Kansas City, Missouri was born on February 9, 1977 in Rolla, Missouri to LaVerna (nee Burke) Quinton and was found at his home on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the age of 48 years, 6 months and 30 days.
Mitchell was raised in Steelville, Missouri, graduated from Steelville High School in the Class of 1996 and worked with computers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, LaVerna Quinton and brother, Michael and wife Debbie Burke.
Mitchell is survived by his sister, Michelle Hembree of Nashville, Tennessee; nephew, Kegan and wife Alanna Burke of St. James, Missouri; great niece and nephew, Kynnadie Burke and Liam Burke; brother-in-law, Edmond Tapero of Nashville, Tennessee; aunt, Lula Patterson of Steelville, Missouri; uncle, Jim Burke of St. James, Missouri; close special friend, Andy Kogan; chosen family in Kansas City; other relatives and friends.
The family chose cremation as his final disposition. The family will have an inurnment at Steelville Cemetery at a later date.
