Wanda Lourene Hawkins of Rolla, Missouri was born on January 1, 1935 in Qulin, Missouri to George Homer and Daisy Bell (Stroud) Huggins and passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the age of 90 years.
Wanda worked for the Jefferson and Franklin County Community Action Program as a program services administrator for over 20 years.
She was a member of the St. James, Missouri 1st Assemblies of God, formerly a member of the DeSoto 1st Assemblies of God and was a lifelong Christian having accepted Jesus Christ into her heart at the age of 10.
She enjoyed her cats, was an excellent cook and liked making Christmas candy and handmade crafts.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Everett Mercer and James W. Vinson Sr.; sister, Mina Lee Moore; brothers, Eugene, Olen and infant Lehmon L. Huggins; brother-in-law, Richard Whitmer; and infant son, Randall Lee Vinson
Wanda is survived by her husband of 27 years, James L. Hawkins of Rolla, Missouri; sisters, Daisy Arlene (Leonard) Fisher of DeSoto, Missouri and Norma Eddlyn Whitmer of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, daughter, Sheryl (Melvin) Arnhart of Festus, Missouri; sons, George (Mary) Vinson of Rolla, Missouri, James W. Vinson Jr. (Estella) of Shelbina, Missouri, Paul (Sheila) Vinson of Bunn, North Carolina and Kerry (Tracy) Vinson of Herculaneum, Missouri; 20 grandchildren, Amber Marie, Amber Nicole, Augusta, Bill, Charla, Cristy, Darlene, Dawn, Emma, Gary, Hedwig, Juliana, Julie, Kerry, Kyle, Nicholle, Rick, Robert, Thomas and Timothy; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday October 20, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Reverend Mick Thrasher officiating. Music provided by Greg Gabel and Danny Davis.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Qulin Cemetery in Qulin Missouri.
